Urgent Needs
Colder weather is right around the corner.
Please help us prepare to serve the 120+ men and women seeking shelter each night.

This list of our most urgent needs is updated monthly.
- Soap – solid or liquid
- laundry detergent
- Men’s jeans (sizes 30-36), pants and shoes
- Toothbrushes (not toothpaste)
- Shower gel or body wash
- Shampoo
- Bottled water or other drinks
- Individually packaged snacks (granola bars, crackers, etc.)
- Towels
- Twin-sized bedding
- Gallon-sized plastic bags (Ziploc or similar)
- Travel-sized deodorant and sunscreen
- Rain ponchos

Our donation ramp is open Monday, wednesday, and saturday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Kentucky Avenue.
Donations can be mailed or dropped off at 814 N Kentucky Ave. Lakeland, FL 33801.
Please look for the driveway with a white “donation” sign on Kentucky Ave. and turn in; someone will help you unload your vehicle.

As Polk County’s largest homeless shelter, Talbot House relies on a variety of donated goods to keep our guests fed, clean, and inspired. Below is a list of items we accept year-round:
- Nonperishable food
- Bottled drinks
- Salt and seasonings
- Clothing (all types and sizes, including professional attire)
- Twin-sized bedding
- Gently-used towels
- Cleaning supplies
- Hygiene items
The Good Samaritan Free Clinic relies on donated prescriptions, hygienic supplies, and durable medical equipment. We can even reuse pill bottles (orange with a white cap)! However, due to storage limitations, we are unable to accept the following items at this time:
- Expired medications
- Narcotic medications
- IV supplies, including IV poles
- Oxygen tanks
- CPAP or BiPAP machines
- Insulin syringes
- Catheter supplies
We recommend asking our friends at LVIM or VISTE if they have a use for such donations.
Due to storage limitations, we are unable to accept:
- Furniture
- Electronics
- Open food products and leftovers
- Expired food
