The Good Samaritan Free Clinic
The Good Samaritan Free Clinic provides over 3,200 healthcare services annually. All care, supplies, and medications are free of charge. To be seen in the clinic, patients must meet the following eligibility criteria:
- Must be uninsured and not receiving any insurance of any kind.
- Must have a Polk County Identification
- Must meet income requirements (less than 200% of federal poverty guidelines)
The Good Samaritan Free Clinic was established in the mid-1990’s by a local physician and three nurse practitioners who saw the need for basic medical care for the homeless. Our staff includes an APRN, RN, and dental hygienist, and is supported by volunteer medical professionals from across Polk County. These services include:

(Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and until further notice, the clinic is open by appointment only to anyone who is not a Talbot House resident. Dental care is for emergency only. Patients may call 863-226-4261 then press 5 to set up an appointment. Patients are screened for COVID-19 over the phone before setting up an appointment. They are screened again before entering Talbot House building which includes a temperature check for fever with a non-contact thermometer. We are seeing both new and existing patients who are screened negative per CDC guidelines for COVID-19. We encourage patients to use a mask and provide one as needed).

For 1st and 2nd weeks of the month:
Saturday 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM (Podiatrist is available the 2nd Saturday of the month)
Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Tuesday 8:00 AM – 6:30 PM
For the 3rd, 4th, and 5th weeks of the month:
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday 8:00 AM -6:30 PM
Patient check-in begins at 8:30 AM each morning **Except for Tuesdays.
**Tuesdays are afternoon clinic from 1:30 PM – 5:30 PM (Check in starts at 1:30 PM).
