free clinic
The Good Samaritan Free Clinic offers free medical, dental, and mental health care to uninsured, low-income individuals in Polk County. Appointments are available by calling (863) 687-8475.
By offering free clinic services within Talbot House Ministries, our clients receive greater access to preventative care and interventions, education, prescriptions, and referrals they need to improve their physical and mental well-being. The goals of the Clinic include reducing local emergency room visits, preventing and managing chronic diseases, and generally improving quality of life.
The Clinic relies on volunteer medical professionals to sustain its services. To encourage practitioners to volunteer, the State of Florida protects them from lawsuits under a Florida sovereign immunity provision when providing free medical and dental services to underserved populations. The Clinic receives funding through the Polk County Indigent Health Care half-cent sales surtax, among other sources.
