As part of our mission to serve the homeless population of Polk County, Talbot House Ministries offers on-campus transitional and permanent supportive housing for program graduates. All residents continue to receive wrap-around supportive services including case management, employment training, placement, and financial education to promote self-sufficiency.
Talbot House Ministries is also a partner of the Continuum of Care overseen by the Homeless Coalition of Polk County. Direct referrals from the coalition (individuals and families needing rapid rehousing) are sent to the Housing Department and are offered assistance based on availability and openings.
Talbot House Ministries’ newest affordable housing initiative is the Vermont Place Apartments. Once renovations are completed, the Vermont Place Apartments will offer off-campus affordable housing opportunities to low and very low-income working adults, veterans, and the disabled. Tenants will also receive wrap-around supportive services as part of their housing agreement. Construction is expected to be completed by January 2021.
Please check back often for announcements concerning the opening of applications for Vermont Place Apartments and how to apply.
