The time has finally come for the Vermont Place Apartment’s grand opening! This month we started welcoming applications for residents, and in April, we invite you to virtually attend the opening ceremony to celebrate this great accomplishment.

This 16-unit affordable apartment complex represents Talbot House’s commitment to offering comprehensive services for the poor, homeless, and impoverished. We know the community needs much more than just 16 units of low-income housing, but this project is a step in the right direction for Talbot House, Lakeland, and Polk County. Finding reasonably priced housing in Lakeland is a daunting task for both families and individuals simply because there are not enough affordable homes available. Seventy percent of Lakeland individuals who qualify for affordable housing can’t find it because of overwhelming demand. With this initiative, Talbot House hopes to assist some of our most vulnerable neighbors find clean, safe, and appropriate housing complete with the wrap-around services they need to develop greater independence.

Celebrate this victory for our community by attending the Vermont Place Apartments grand opening ceremony virtually on April 14 at 5 p.m. Follow our Facebook for the ceremony link coming soon!

Please note the application for Vermont Place Apartments is closed until further notice. Talbot House Ministries has received the maximum number of applicants it is prepared to process in order to fill the 16 units at Vermont Place.
