Award winners were announced Nov. 5 at the National Philanthropy Day Breakfast, hosted by the Association of Fundraising Professionals’ Greater Polk County Chapter.
Denis and Mary Grant were recognized as Philanthropists of the Year for their decades of service, exceptional generosity, and for encouraging others to take philanthropic leadership roles in their community. As a longtime member of Talbot House Ministries’ Executive Board, Denis Grant leverages his business acumen to direct the organization into the future. Their faithful giving to religious and human service causes and critical projects such as the Vermont Place Apartments affordable housing initiative have helped to feed, shelter, and empower those in need to rise above their circumstances.
Tribute Realty received the Philanthropic Small Business of the Year Award for their outstanding commitment to financial support and volunteerism in their community. Tribute Realty’s business model encourages their clients to make a charitable contribution to the organization of their choice with each transaction they complete. Tribute Realty, led by Mindy Emerson Hunley, selects a nonprofit to support every year and coordinates various fundraising events benefiting that organization. Hunley also serves on Talbot House Ministries’ development committee and is involved with a variety of other educational and human service organizations across Polk County.
Bartow Ford was named a finalist for their history of involvement in a variety of organizations supporting Polk County students, law enforcement, and human service organizations.
Congratulations to Denis and Mary Grant, Tribute Realty, and Bartow Ford! We are so grateful for your support and spirit of philanthropy.
