Talbot House Ministries welcomes its new Director of Development, Erin Martinez!

A native Floridian, Erin graduated from Florida Southern College with a degree in Communications with concentrations in Public Relations and Advertising. She has held a variety of communications-based roles with organizations including Hyde Park United Methodist Church, Polk County Public Schools, and her alma mater, Florida Southern, where she most recently served as Director of Development Communications.  In these positions, Erin cultivated a love of development and gained experience coordinating successful fundraising campaigns and special events, grant writing, and many other techniques that are vital to success in her current role. She currently serves as Treasurer of the Dick Pope/Polk County chapter of the Florida Public Relations Association and is also a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals.

Erin has always held an interest in the non-profit sector, and her desire to give back to her community was what first attracted her to the work of Talbot House Ministries.

“I’m honored to be here supporting the mission of Talbot House,” she said.  “I’ve seen firsthand the effects that poverty can have on a person’s life trajectory and have always tried to advocate for others through social services and education, which is why I’m so pleased to have the opportunity to make an impact through my work here.”

Erin and her husband reside in Mulberry and have two dogs and a cat. Together, they enjoy learning new cooking techniques, traveling, and hosting holidays and game nights for their large family.
