The Lakeland Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) works with businesses, developers, and property owners in redevelopment districts to improve the quality of life for residents. Recently, they earned a Florida Redevelopment Award for “Best Outstanding Rehabilitation Renovation or Reuse Project – Vermont Place Apartments.”
The concept for Vermont Place Apartments, an affordable housing initiative, began in 2019. The site, which was previously a squatter’s camp, was transformed into 16 studio apartments now available to low-income working adults, veterans, and the disabled.
The Vermont Place Apartments were made possible thanks to the Lakeland Community Redevelopment Agency, the project’s sponsors, and their dedication to our community. We are thankful for their vision, support, and all their contributions to the City of Lakeland!
