Construction is underway at Talbot House Ministries! In the fall, we began our kitchen and dining room renovation. This expansion will allow us to serve our community with greater efficiency.

According to the United Way of Central Florida, “In Polk County, 95,800 individuals, 15% of the population, are unsure they will have enough food to feed their families three meals a day.”

Through our food service programs, those living with food insecurity have a place to depend on for food when they are hungry. With food insecurity numbers rising in Polk County, this expansion is an important advancement in our ministry.

Our food service team has worked tirelessly to make sure that those we serve continue to be fed during renovations. Thanks to King’s Church, previously Grace City Church, we have access to a backup kitchen only a couple of minutes away. With the help of staff and wonderful volunteers, we have been able to cook and transport meals from our backup kitchen to Talbot House—daily!

Renovations are expected to be completed by May. In the meantime, if you would like to help us solve food insecurity in Polk County, you can click here to donate.

If you or someone you know is suffering from food insecurity, food boxes are available Tuesdays and Fridays from 9:00 a.m. to 10:50 a.m. and meals are served daily at 6 a.m., 12 p.m., and 5 p.m. Please call us at (863) 687-8475 for more information.
