Six months into her new position, Reddout already has made some significant changes to the way Talbot House addresses homelessness.
LAKELAND – Brenda Reddout is helping lead efforts in Polk County to reduce homelessness and administer to the needs of the down and out.
Reddout, a former Polk School Board member, left her previous position with Catholic Charities, where she worked to alleviate hunger and homelessness in much of Central Florida, to take charge in June of Lakeland’s Talbot House, which operates a shelter and free clinic.
The move puts her on the front lines of combating the underlying issues that cause people to lose their homes, things like poverty, unemployment, ill health, lack of affordable housing, and drug and alcohol abuse.
