Our Emergency Shelter provides each person who comes to our door with the immediate needs of food, shelter, and clothing. The Emergency Shelter gives those homeless who would otherwise be on the streets a place of safe refuge, and basic needs.
Emergency Shelter guests are admitted for the night and receive a shower, clothing, and dinner. After dinner they receive a bunk and bedding for that night, and have breakfast in the mooring.
Emergency Shelter guests often take advantage of our other services, such as free medical/dental care provided by our Good Samaritan Free Clinic. Many take the opportunity to enrol in our Renewal Program. Our Good Samaritan Free Clinic reserves space in the Emergency Shelter for patients needing extended treatment. The Emergency Shelter also reserves allotted space to house those with special needs, whose health and wellbeing could be in danger if not housed adequately. The Emergency Shelter also provides transportation for special needs and medical guests to receive other medical or indigent care.
The Emergency Shelter provides many services to the community.
